Diei Memoria

As this is Memorial Day weekend, I wanted to share a few pictures I took while at a ceremony that celebrated the arrival of Old Glory at Independence Hall. I guess I just wanted to convey how grateful I am for the sacrifice of others in our defense. Thanks Big Lare. Thanks Jer-Bear. I thank you for your bravery in battle, and for your support in times of peace. Thank you for being righteous examples of the Priesthood to me.

On another topic, today is my last day of work at Olin Partnership. I am going to miss it, I have learned so much in this short year that i've been on my internship here in Philadelphia. I am excited to get back to Indiana and I know Amanda is too, but we really have enjoyed Philadelphia and all the friends we and our children have made. We are going to miss our friends.

Thank you Casey for the reminder of where we live and the history behind it. We'll miss you guys too, but so goes the story of life. You meet wonderful people and enjoy them for a short time, and then you're both off for bigger and better things. But then you get to meet even MORE great people. We wish you the best of luck in Indiana, and if you ever want to come west for a visit, look us up. Well, you may want to give us a few years so we can get settles somewhere. :)

We will SO miss you guys, too! I can't believe how quickly the time has gone! We're glad we got to know you! Jake doesn't realize what's happening yet, I think-- he knows he's going to help Porter move but I don't think he gets it. He said, "we're just going to go visit Porter in Indiana," like it's next door! He says Porter is his best friend and he includes him in his prayers. We'll miss you all. You're a fantastic family and I'm going to keep on stalking your blog to hear about your adventures and to read the kid anecdotes! Porter can plan on getting letters discussing general grievous and boba fett on a regular basis! Best wishes!

Isn't it nice to be on the East Coast during national holidays. They do great reenactments. Good luck with your move. I wish it were somewhere closer that we could travel to but I quess we'll hold out for the next Family Reunion.

I was just checking to see if you had any new posts and since you didn't I started reading all the funny quotes on the sidebar. I'm sitting here laughing my head off. Did you guys get a couple of the funniest kids or what! How funny that Maya really did have a hair tie in her ear and Porter and the bracelets--that's so funny.
