Andy Goldsworthy

When I was at Olin Partnership on my internship, I was exposed to this really neat british artist, Andy Goldsworthy (http://www.morning-earth.org/ARTISTNATURALISTS/AN_Goldsworthy.html) and I was totally amazed and felt a deep connection with his work as he is an artist/naturalist. I know it sounds hippie, but his projects are so cool that I had to try out some works of my own, i know it's sort of copycatting, but who cares, it was a ton of fun and took me a good 6 hours to make gathering up all the leaves from different maple trees and arranging them arround the trunk of one of our trees. As I was working on this I started by collecting leaves from one of my own trees, but as I ran out and needed more colors, I kept having to go around my neighborhood to get more leaves. I think it turned out pretty cool and the next day, it had pretty much blown away, but it was still a fun little project. I even had a little go at the front porch which didn't get completed.

Wow that's really cool! I can just see you scavanging around the neighborhood, "do mind if I take your leaves?"

WOW, that is breathtakingly beautiful. I love the fall colors anyway and so creatively designed makes it awesome. I think it would be sad to spend that much time on something to have them blow away. Next time, tack them to a wall or to the ground so you can enjoy it longer.

Love ya

Wow, Casey I just saw this and it is beautiful..what a fun project too bad it had to blow away but I am glad you got a foto at least! By the way I found your 20 dolars in the bottom of may purse and made it home despite having to lug that heavy bag through the airport! I am just glad that you happened to have that tote bag with you or I would have been feeding the homeless in the sirport! It was so good to see yuo and Amanda and the kids again after such a long time. We are praying for you to finish your graduate stuff!
Love and carinos,
Mom

I loved this! And can I just say, I checked out the linked site, and his leaves are cool, but I'd much rather hang your version on my wall!
