Plymouth, The Mayflower, and Cape Cod-ish

Saturday was another GORGEOUS day. We took advantage of the 70 degree weather and traveled south to Plymouth Plantation. Plymouth Plantation is a fun place. They have a village where the people talk, dress, and represent actual settlers from the Mayflower. It's really cool. You can ask them questions and they know everything about EVERYTHING!

We were lucky because they were bring the baby animals out for an Animal Parade. We got to pet the baby goat (3 weeks old) and the baby sheep (1 week old). It was so cute, I want to buy a farm more than ever!

I think Maya would like a farm too. Porter would like it also, although sometimes he thinks he has to put his cool face on.

Miles was quite an angel. He's such a good sport. I felt blessed to have Hanny there to help out. My kids sure are lucky to have such a fun Aunt.
Here the kids were all looking at the pen where some of the animals were kept. You can never go wrong with live animals.

Inside the houses the re-in-actors answer questions and tell you what it was like to live during that time. Pretty amazing. I don't think I'm cut out for that kind of living. I love my indoor plumbing and frozen foods too much. There is also an Indian (Native People) village. It's one of my favorite parts, but I had to go feed Miles so I didn't get any pictures of it. Sorry.

After we had our fill of Plymouth Plantation we drove over to the Mayflower and Plymouth Rock. I think my Dad liked the Mayflower best. It also has people who represent original travelers. They are always entertaining to listen to (even if only to hear the cool accents).

I think the original name for the Mayflower was the Love Boat!
Porter and Maya would rather have been swimming.
Grampy was kind enough to take a family picture for us, and it turned out so good I'm thinking about framing it -NOT- (honestly how hard can it be to all look at the camera at the same time?)

We wore the kids out (and ourselves in the process) but that didn't slow us down. We went to lunch at the Lobster Hut (Even we land lovers enjoyed it). Then we drove down towards Cape Cod, but when traffic backed up we deviated from the plan and stopped at Scussett Beach. It was much bigger than the beach we went to Friday, but it was a little more windy and colder. The kids didn't mind, of course (I think they are immune to cold). So we were gone from 9am - 9pm, and we still made time to sew a skirt that evening, and got to church (on time!) Sunday. My parents are amazing!
Funny quote from the cape. Maya came running up to Porter (who was building a sand castle) saying "I FOUND A REAL. LIVE. DEAD. CRAB!"
